I've been grateful for God that I got cancer.

"I got married to an exchange student when I was at school, and we've been living together in Thailand for 54 years.
You know, Thailand is hot all year long and there is no seasonal feeling to the memories. Here in Japan, I can recall: That was on a cold winter day or that happened on a rainy day. Having lived for many years now, I find my homeland the most beautiful."
"Mom's birthday was in November, so we came here together."
"I can not walk anymore because I have cancer. My daughter and her husband came to Thailand all the way from England, and then brought me to Japan."
-Do you have any wishes for Christmas?
"Well, I'm actually Christian. I've been living with breast and lymph node cancer for a while, but on the 17th of this month I'll get to know whether it has been completely cured or not. So if the results are good, I will be able to enjoy Christmas with healthy body and mind.
I've been grateful for God that I got cancer...
That it was given to me.
You know, breast cancer is a disease that only women can get.
I have two daughters and there is also my son's wife.
God gave cancer to me, and not to them.
I'm thankful for that all the time."
