There is something absolute about music.



"What Japan needs now... I've been thinking about that for a long time, but I dont know.

I think it's something like an inner reserve; the willingness and space to say 'We're alright just the way we are.' Because we already have more than enough. 
But now, the rich are acting like the poor: so afraid of letting go; so afraid of sharing. This is mine and that is mine. If they live that way, of course they'll need weapons, guards and all the money in the world to maintain those things. No wonder people get divided. 

That's why I play the drums. Because this sound is real. Words can lie to you but music can't. There is something absolute about music."
