“My grandchild brought me here, from Aichi. I'm 81 now.
Tokyo has changed a lot. I came here when I was a girl. None of the roads were paved back then. Well, that was 60 years ago..”
- What did you do in Aichi?
“I was a farmer. I used to grow fig fruits. And rice, in rice fields. But I'm retired and now my son's in charge of them.”
- What was the most memorable event in your life?
“The time my husband passed away... 23 years ago, in an accident. That is something I remember the most. I'm living with my child and grandchild. Being with the young ones really is great joy.”
