There are a lot of things I want to apologize for.

"What are you doing here today?"
"My mother is coming all the way to Tokyo from our home in the countryside, so I'm here to pick her up."

"If you had the chance to make an apology to your mother, what would it be?"
"Well, there are a lot of things I want to apologize for. I can't explain it all in one sentence... but for instance, I want to apologize for leaving her and our home for my job in Tokyo."
