I have lung cancer.

"I have lung cancer. I've had it for almost two years now."

- How did you feel when you were diagnosed?
"Well, I was shocked. But after a hundred years, everyone will not be alive. A baby who was born today will be 99% gone in a hundred years. Everyone gets sick sooner or later and everyone might die from a disease.

So I was disappointed at first, but my family has supported me. My thirty year old daughter is living in Sidney, but she comes home once in a while to see me. She's coming home this winter too. My wife and everyone around me has been good to me, so I appreciate everything they do for me."

- How do you take care of yourself everyday?
"I try not to make myself cold. So I won't catch any cold. It's possible to live with a disease as long as you stay healthy, right? Many people think that you are destined to become unhappy if you're sick, but that's not true. There's what people call QOL. Quality of Life. Some people have low QOL even though they're healthy. So you can have high QOL even if you are sick."
