I believe it will be the best thing if I can make this business my living.
"I'm still a student but I own a french toast specialized cafe. It all began when I started working as a part time chef at a restaurant and went abroad to study cooking. After I came back to Japan I wanted to do something with what I learned so I started giving cooking lessons and catering services. Then I started opening french toast cafes as a once in a month event and one day this person offered to sponsor me. So that's how I came to own my own cafe."
- Who do you want to thank the most to have come so far?
"Well although I'm Hiroshima, I have a second dad in Tokyo and he helped me a lot with managing the cafe, doing business and all that. I'm still an amateur when it comes to running a business so he's helped me a lot with that."
- Is there something he said to you that meant a lot?
"I don't know... He's always really strict. He's kind and caring but he's strict. So he always tells me that taking on the world isn't so easy. I used to not care about the money and I just wanted to see people enjoying my food. But now I have to face the numbers every single day. And I struggle with that everyday but I'm trying because I believe it will be the best thing if I can make this business my living."
